About: Jenny Jaeckel grew up in the counter-culture of Northern California, has lived in Mexico, Spain and currently lives in British Columbia with her husband and daughter.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from The Evergreen State College, a Master of Arts in Hispanic Literatures from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is a certified interpreter and translator, and has taught Spanish at three universities. She is the author and illustrator of three graphic memoirs: "Spot 12, The Story of a Birth," which won a 2008 Xeric Grant, "Siberiak, My Cold War Adventure on the River Ob," and "Odd Pieces, Memoir of a Childhood." All three graphic novels were first self-published in Canada and now are being released by an American publisher, Raincloud Press.
Jaeckel has also authored "For the Love of Meat: 9 Illustrated stories," a collection of fiction to be released in May 2015.
